In my last blog post, I talked about my top 3 online shops! Now, I’ll be discussing about online shops again.
I decided to share with you guys my experience to the top 2 online shops (i guess) in the Philippines, Zalora and Lazada. Both Zalora and Lazada offer clothing, shoes, accessories, bags and makeup. However, Zalora does not offers gadgets while Lazada does.
I bought my first Too Faced Eyeshadow Palette in Zalora and I am very happy with their service. If my memory serves me right, my first purchase was in 2012. I place my orders Friday afternoon, received a text message and an e-mail for confirmation. I am residing in Makati so it will take 1 to 3 days. Monday morning, I received a text message from Zalora, saying that my item has been shipped, after an hour their courier arrived. I chose their “Cash on Delivery” payment option by the way. I was very happy with my purchase. It was packed in a bubble wrap to assure that the product will not break, apart from the bubble wrap, there’s a regular transparent plastic and ecobag bag which I am very amazed. They really want to take care of the item before it reaches the customer. I handed over my payment to the courier and sign on the receiving log. It was fast also, i was informed that Sunday is not included so, receiving my order Monday morning was fast considering that i placed my order Friday afternoon. Very impressive! That’s why I ordered a couple of times and they never failed me everytime.
Last week, I decided to have my first purchase in Lazada. I ordered a Leather Makeup Bag, and same goes, I chose Cash on Delivery. I ordered January 13, received the confirmation the following day (January 14). Now, please see below of what happens next:
I was really disappointed! January 19, it says that it was packed and ready for shipment at merchant’s warehouse so I’m expecting it anytime this week. I was so busy yesterday (January 23) that I wasn’t able to check the status of my order so, I did it this morning. To my surprise, it was cancelled. I immediately sent an e-mail to their customer service and call them thru their hotline. Cristine, the agent who handled my complaint asked for my name for verification purposes (because I sent an e-mail already). After that, I asked her nicely, what happened? How come it was cancelled when I never did so. She told me that it was cancelled due to sourcing delay and I won’t be able to receive the item anymore. If I want to have it, I need to re-order! What?!?! I will not re-order!!! I never experienced this in all the online shops, I transact with. Service is very poor!
My first time was not successful so, don’t ask me to do a “re-order”. When I checked Lazada again, the item I ordered was no longer available so, there is really something going on.
For me, Zalora is more impressive and trusted. I never experienced this “sourcing delay”. They are fast and very accommodating. I don’t think I will consider Lazada again for my online shopping, really disappointing.
To you guys out there, i highly recommend Zalora but, if you're interested in trying out Lazada go ahead. I think there are people with successful stories with Lazada, it just so happen that mine's not great.
